How do I activate my SwiftPrep license?
This guide explains how to activate your SwiftPrep subscription, manage your account, and handle common activation scenarios.
How Subscriptions Work
SwiftPrep uses a subscription-based system for AI features:
- Free tier - No payment required, 15 AI generations per month
- Companion tier - $7.99/month, 150 AI generations, full AI features
- Power tier - $14.99/month, 400 AI generations, advanced AI features
Your subscription is tied to your account, not your computer. You can install SwiftPrep on multiple devices and sign in with the same account.
[!TIP] You don't need API keys. AI usage is included in your subscription. SwiftPrep handles all AI processing on our servers.
First-Time Activation
When you first launch SwiftPrep:
Step 1: Create an Account or Sign In
On the welcome screen, choose:
- Create Account - If you're new to SwiftPrep
- Sign In - If you already have an account
Step 2: Account Creation (New Users)
- Enter your email address
- Create a secure password
- Check your inbox for a verification email
- Click the verification link
- Return to SwiftPrep
Step 3: Choose Your Tier
After signing in, you can:
- Start with Free - Begin using SwiftPrep immediately
- Subscribe - Choose Companion or Power for enhanced AI
If you choose to subscribe:
- Select your tier (Companion or Power)
- Enter payment information
- Complete checkout
- Your subscription activates immediately
Step 4: Confirmation
Once activated, you'll see:
- Your current tier in the app
- Your monthly AI generation quota
- Access to tier-appropriate features
Managing Your Subscription
Viewing Status
- Open Settings from the sidebar
- Click Manage Subscription or navigate to Account
- View your current tier, quota usage, and renewal date
Upgrading
- Open Settings
- Click Manage Subscription
- Select your new tier
- Complete payment
Your new tier takes effect immediately. Your quota resets to the new tier's limit.
Downgrading
- Open Settings
- Click Manage Subscription
- Click Change Plan
- Select your new tier
- Confirm the change
Downgrade takes effect at your next billing cycle. You keep current access until then.
Cancelling
- Open Settings
- Click Manage Subscription
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Confirm cancellation
You retain access until the end of your current billing period. After that, you revert to Free tier.
[!INFO] Your data is never deleted. Campaigns, entities, and relationships remain intact on your computer. Only AI feature access changes.

Quota Status
SwiftPrep shows quota status with color indicators:

| 100% | Blocked | No AI until reset |
Buying More Generations
If you exhaust your quota before reset:
- Open Settings
- Click Buy More Generations
- Select a package:
- Small: 10 for $1.00
- Medium: 50 for $4.00
- Large: 100 for $7.00
- Complete payment
- Credits available immediately
[!TIP] Pay-as-you-go credits don't expire and carry over month-to-month.
Multiple Devices
Your subscription works across devices:
- Install SwiftPrep on any computer
- Sign in with your account
- Your subscription status syncs automatically
Note: Campaign data is stored locally on each device. Use export/import to transfer campaigns between computers.
Offline Access
SwiftPrep works offline using cached subscription data:

| 7-13 days | Full access, prominent warning |
| 14+ days | AI features blocked until reconnection |
When you reconnect, SwiftPrep automatically verifies your subscription.

Troubleshooting
Verification Email Not Received
- Check your spam/junk folder
- Wait a few minutes
- Click Resend Verification Email in SwiftPrep
- Verify your email address was entered correctly
Payment Failed
- Check that your payment method has sufficient funds
- Verify card details are correct
- Try a different payment method
- Contact your bank if the issue persists
Subscription Not Showing After Payment
- Sign out of SwiftPrep
- Wait 30 seconds
- Sign back in
- Check Settings then Subscription for your tier
- If still missing, contact support with your payment confirmation
Signed In But Features Are Locked
- Check your internet connection
- Go to Settings and click Refresh Subscription
- Sign out and sign back in
- Verify your subscription is active (check email for payment confirmation)
Forgot Password
- On the sign-in screen, click Forgot Password
- Enter your email address
- Check your inbox for reset instructions
- Create a new password
- Sign in with your new password
Account Security
SwiftPrep protects your account:
- Encrypted transmission - All data sent securely
- Secure payment processing - We never store card numbers
- Password requirements - Strong passwords required
- Local data - Campaign data stays on your computer
Changing Your Password
- Open Settings
- Go to Account section
- Click Change Password
- Enter current and new password
- Click Save
Changing Your Email
- Open Settings
- Go to Account section
- Click Change Email
- Enter new email address
- Verify the new address via email link
