How do I install SwiftPrep on Windows?
This guide walks you through downloading, installing, and launching SwiftPrep on Windows.
System Requirements
- Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
- 4 GB RAM minimum (8 GB recommended)
- 500 MB available disk space
- Internet connection for license activation and AI features
Download
- Visit the SwiftPrep website at swiftprep.app
- Click the Download button
- Select Windows to download the
.exeinstaller
The installer file will be named something like SwiftPrep-Setup-x.x.x.exe where x.x.x is the version number.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Run the Installer
Locate the downloaded installer file (usually in your Downloads folder) and double-click to run it.
Step 2: Handle Windows SmartScreen Warning
If Windows SmartScreen displays a warning that says "Windows protected your PC":
- Click More info
- Click Run anyway
This warning appears because SwiftPrep is a new application. The installer is signed and safe to run.
[!TIP] If "Run anyway" is not visible, right-click the installer file, select Properties, check the Unblock checkbox at the bottom of the General tab, and click OK.
Step 3: Complete Installation
- Follow the installation wizard prompts
- Choose your installation location (default is recommended)
- Click Install
- Wait for installation to complete
- Click Finish to launch SwiftPrep
First Launch
When you first launch SwiftPrep:
- The application will initialize its local database
- You will be prompted to sign in or create an account
- If you have a subscription, it will be activated automatically
- You will see the home screen with options to create your first campaign

Data Location
SwiftPrep stores all your campaign data locally on your computer at:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\dm-swiftprep
To access this folder:
- Press
Win + Rto open the Run dialog - Type
%LOCALAPPDATA%\dm-swiftprepand press Enter
This folder contains:
- Your campaign database
- Imported assets and images
- Application configuration
- Local cache files
Troubleshooting
Windows SmartScreen Blocks the Installer
Problem: Windows SmartScreen prevents the installer from running.
Solution:
- Click More info on the SmartScreen dialog
- Click Run anyway
- If this option is not available, right-click the installer, select Properties, check Unblock at the bottom, and click OK
Antivirus Software Blocks Installation
Problem: Your antivirus software flags SwiftPrep as suspicious.
Solution:
- Temporarily disable real-time protection in your antivirus software
- Run the installer
- Re-enable antivirus protection after installation
- Add SwiftPrep to your antivirus exclusion list to prevent future issues
Application Will Not Start
Problem: SwiftPrep fails to launch after installation.
Solution:
- Try running as administrator: right-click the SwiftPrep shortcut and select Run as administrator
- Check that your Windows version is 10 or later (64-bit)
- Ensure no other instance of SwiftPrep is already running (check Task Manager)
- Try reinstalling the application
Installation Fails with Permission Error
Problem: The installer shows a permission or access denied error.
Solution:
- Right-click the installer and select Run as administrator
- If installing to a custom location, ensure you have write permissions to that folder
- Try installing to the default location
Missing Visual C++ Runtime
Problem: Error message about missing DLL files or Visual C++ Runtime.
Solution:
- Download and install the latest Visual C++ Redistributable from Microsoft
- Restart your computer
- Try launching SwiftPrep again
